Snow melting agent is a chemical used to melt snow on roads. It  can be divided into many types according to different classification methods. The following are some common types of deicing agents: 

1. According to ingredients:

Snow melting agents can be divided into chloride-type snow ones and calcium chloride-type ones. The main ingredients of chloride-type snow melting agents are sodium chloride, calcium chloride, etc. They are relatively cheap but can easily damage roads and vehicles. Calcium chloride-type snow melting agents can be divided into two types: chlorine-containing and chlorine-free. Chlorine-containing snow melting agents, such as a mixture of calcium chloride and sodium chloride, can form chloride ions on the road surface in a short period of time and promote the melting of ice and snow, but it will corrode roads and vehicles in long-term use situation. 

2. According to the methods of use:

According to the methods of use, snow melting agents can be divided into spreading and spraying snow melting agents. Spreading snow melting agents are mainly suitable for areas with heavy snow on roads. They can be evenly distributed on the road surface, but require more manpower and time. Spraying de-icing agents are suitable for places with larger areas, such as airports and squares.

3. According to application:

Snow melting agents can be divided into two types: road snow melting agents and industrial snow melting agents.

4. According to concentration:

Snow melting agents can be divided into high-concentration ones and low-concentration ones.

5. According to function:

Snow melting agents can be divided into many types, including ordinary snow melting agents, antifreeze snow melting agents, and quick-acting snow melting agents.
