In winter, it is mainly used as concrete antifreeze; in summer, it is mainly reflected in the rust inhibition and antirust treatment. Nitrite products are common rust preventives in the construction machinery industry. It is mainly used to prevent rusting of mechanical parts by isolating metal machinery from chloride ions and increasing the critical value of chloride ions. The main methods are as follows:
- 1. Soak the mechanical components in an aqueous solution of 5% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate for a slightly longer time, and the anti-rust effect is very good.
- 2. The mechanical components can be soaked in a solution of sodium nitrite with a higher concentration, such as a solution containing 15%-20% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate. The soaking time is determined according to the time required.
- 3. Apply the sodium nitrite solution to the mechanical components and apply it multiple times to the parts that are prone to rust, such as mechanical connections.
- 4. Use the method of spraying sodium nitrite solution to prevent rust on mechanical components. The commonly used formula is 5%-10% sodium nitrite plus 0.6% sodium carbonate, which can be adjusted according to needs.
- 5. For the anti-rust treatment of steel bars in concrete, it can be added as a concrete admixture, and the general usage is about 3%. This method can also be used as a rust removal treatment for concrete buildings.
