PTSA/P-Toluenesulfonic Acid (chemical formula: p-CH3C6H4SO3H, also written as TsOH) is a non-oxidizing strong organic acid, which is one million times more acidic than benzoic acid. White needle-like or powder crystals, easily deliquescent, soluble in water, alcohol and other polar solvents. Will dehydrate and carbonize paper, wood, etc. The common one is p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate TsOH·H2O.
