Specific gravity 2.257. Deliquescence easily, soluble in water and liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in ethanol and glycerol, melting point is 308℃. The decomposition temperature is 380 °C, and the decomposition products are sodium nitrite and oxygen. When heated to a higher temperature, the decomposition is intensified, and a mixed gas of oxygen, nitrogen, and oxygen-nitrogen compounds is generated.
