Ammonium Sulfate Chemical Formula (NH4)2SO4 50 KG / BAG
Ammonium sulfate, also known as ammonium sulfate, has the chemical formula (NH4)2SO4. It is a colorless orthorhombic crystal that is easily soluble in water and its aqueous solution is acidic. Ammonium sulfate is a nitrogen fertilizer, but it must be applied in combination with lime on strongly acidic soils. On soils with strong lime reactions, it must be deeply applied and covered with soil to reduce nitrogen loss. It can also be used as welding flux and fabric fire retardant. It is colorless crystal or translucent orthorhombic crystal or white granule. It is easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. It decomposes into ammonia and sulfuric acid when heated to 28°C. The relative density is 1.77. The pH value of 0.1 mol/L aqueous solution is 5.5. It reacts with sodium hypochlorite to generate explosive nitrogen trichloride. It decomposes under high heat and emits toxic fumes.

1. Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as a fertilizer, as a nutrient supplement that supplies nitrogen and sulfur, and is widely used in agriculture.
2. It has high solubility in water and can also be used as a coolant for aqueous solutions.
3. In the laboratory, ammonium sulfate can also be used to prepare other compounds, such as metal sulfides.
