High Purity Cheap Baking Soda 99% NaHCO3 Sodium Bicarbonate Powder cas 144-55-8
Sodium bicarbonate is an inorganic compound, white powder or fine crystals, odorless, salty, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol (some say insoluble), and the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. It is easily decomposed by heat, and slowly decomposes in humid air to produce carbon dioxide. It starts to decompose at about 50°C and completely decomposes when heated to 270°C. It decomposes strongly when it encounters acid, producing carbon dioxide.

1. Laboratory use
Sodium bicarbonate can be used as an analytical reagent and also in inorganic synthesis. It can be used to prepare sodium carbonate-sodium bicarbonate buffer solution. When adding a small amount of acid or alkali, it can keep the hydrogen ion concentration from changing significantly and keep the pH value of the system relatively stable.
2. Industrial Uses
In the printing and dyeing industry, sodium bicarbonate can be used as a color fixing agent for dyeing and printing, an acid-base buffer, and a post-treatment agent for fabric dyeing and finishing; adding baking soda during dyeing can prevent color spots from forming on the yarn tube, and it can also be used as a detergent for wool.
3. Food processing applications
In food processing, sodium bicarbonate is the most widely used leavening agent, used in the production of biscuits, bread, etc. However, sodium carbonate will remain after the action. Excessive use will make the food too alkaline, resulting in a deterioration of flavor and a yellow-brown color.
4. Agricultural and animal husbandry use
Sodium bicarbonate can be used for seed soaking in agriculture, and can also make up for the lack of lysine in feed. Dissolving sodium bicarbonate in a small amount of water or mixing it into concentrate and feeding it to cattle (adding an appropriate amount) can promote the growth of cattle and significantly increase the milk production of dairy cows.
5. Medical Uses
Sodium bicarbonate can be used as a raw material for pharmaceutical production to treat gastric acidosis and metabolic acidosis, and can also alkalinize urine to prevent uric acid kidney stones.
