The Function of FeCl3 in Sewage Treatment and the Use of Methods
Ferric chloride is an effective chemical agent for sewage treatment. In sewage treatment, ferric chloride can be used to remove organic matter, heavy metal ions and color. Its main functions include:
1. Hydrolysis reaction: Ferric chloride hydrolyzes in water to generate hydroxide ions and iron ions. Iron ions can combine with organic matter and suspended matter in sewage, thereby reducing the mass of suspended matter in water.
2. Oxidation reaction: Ferric chloride can oxidize organic matter (such as phenol) in sewage into harmless substances, thereby reducing the content of organic matter in sewage.
3. Precipitation reaction: Ferric chloride can precipitate pollutants (such as heavy metals) in sewage, thereby reducing the content of heavy metal pollutants in water.
Usage:
1. Determine the dosage according to the actual situation: In general, 2~10g of ferric chloride needs to be put into each ton of sewage.
2. Dosing method: Dissolve the ferric chloride in water, and then add the liquid medicine in the sewage pipe, or add it in the sewage treatment equipment.
3. Reaction time: After the reaction, the pollutants in the sewage should be completely removed, and it can be further treated or discharged after a certain time (10~20 minutes).
