LG Chem is Certified Platinum for Zero Waste to Landfill
Recently, LG Chem announced that its subsidiary LG Chem (Tianjin) Engineering Plastics Co., Ltd. was awarded the UL 2799 Zero Landfill Platinum certification, becoming LG Chem's third manufacturer in China after Quzhou plant and Guangzhou plant to receive this certification.
LG Chem's Tianjin plant, which mainly produces engineering plastic products, will achieve 100% conversion of approximately 692 tons of waste in 2024 by recycling waste generated during the production process, developing green suppliers, recycling raw material transportation materials, and refining waste sorting. As a result, the plant has received UL 2799 Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum certification from UL Solutions.
"LG Chem will always adhere to the business philosophy of providing innovative and sustainable solutions for the environment and society, and strive to build a resource-saving and environmentally friendly global company by practicing green low-carbon operations and promoting renewable energy conversion," said Hwang Young-shin, President of LG Chem Greater China.
