It can be used as curing agent of resin and plastic, vulcanization accelerator of rubber (accelerator h), anti shrinkage agent of textile, and used for making bactericide, explosive, etc. When it is used for medicine, it will be sterilized when formaldehyde is produced by acid urine decomposition after oral administration, which is used for mild urinary tract infection; it is used for external treatment of ringworm, antiperspiration and armpit odor. Mixed with caustic soda and sodium phenol, it is used as light gas absorber for gas mask.
