Polyacrylamide PAM is a water-soluble polymer, the appearance of a white or yellowish powder, easy to absorb water, long-term thermal decomposition, the decomposition temperature above 200 ℃, under anaerobic conditions, 210 ℃ carbonized black powder. Insoluble in most organic solvents, has good flocculation, can reduce the frictional resistance between the liquids, ionic character can be divided into non-ionic, anionic, cationic and amphoteric four types.
Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a general term of acrylamide homopolymer or copolymer with other monomers. It is one of the most widely used water-soluble polymers. Because of polyacrylamide units contain amide group in structure, easy to form hydrogen bonding, make it has good water solubility and high chemical activity, easily obtained by grafting and crosslinking branched chain or a variety of modification of the reticular structure, in oil drilling, water treatment, textile, papermaking, ore dressing, has extensive applications in medicine, agriculture and other industries.

Anionic PAM: The Anion Polyacrylamide, according to different uses and requests of customers, adopts two kinds of manufacturing technology: hydrolysis after homopolymerization and copolymerization.
It has a high purity and a fast dissolving speed. It is mainly used to Industry sewage treatment, especially the sewage with high density, big suspending granules, PH≤7, for example, the sewage of steel factory, electroplating factory. Applied to drink water treatment. It has the advantages of low cost and no pollution. It also can be used in paper making.
Cationic PAM: The cation polyacrymide is copolymerization of different potion of cation monomer and acrylamide. We adopt the unique technology, which enable the molecular weight top 8000 thousand when cation density is 25%.
Add a little (1-100ppm) cation polyacrylamide, it can absorb large amount of anion particles in sludge and sewage, make the suspending granules concentrate, flocculate and precipitate. The treatment affectivity is much higher than that of anion polyacrylamide and non-ion polyacrylamide.
Polyacrylamide does not have the toxic effects of acrylamide monomer. The polymer is hydrophilic (displays an affinity for water) and can form aqueous solutions of very high concentration. Because of their gel-like properties, these solutions are employed as flocculants in the removal of suspended particles from sewage and industrial effluents (e.g., wastewater from paper mills). Through the highly reactive amide (NH2) group, the polymer can be chemically modified to produce positively charged cationic polymer or negatively charged anionic polymer. Ionic polymers are especially useful in separating metals from residues in various mineral-processing and metallurgical operations.
