Calcium chloride anhydrous is a colorless cubic crystal. Appearance is white or off-white porous block or granular, honeycomb. Odorless, slightly bitter taste. Relative density 2.15. Melting point is 782 ℃. The boiling point is above 1600℃. It is highly hygroscopic and easily deliquescent when exposed to air. It is easily soluble in water and releases a lot of heat at the same time, and its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. Soluble in alcohol, and acetic acid.
