Calcium chloride is a colorless cubic crystal. The general industrial product is white or off-white porous block or granular, honeycomb. It is odorless and tastes slightly bitter. In its own crystal water, it continues to lose water by heating, and becomes dihydrate at 200℃. When heated to 260℃, it becomes white porous anhydrous calcium chloride.

1. Used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as for drying gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, etc. Used as protective agent and refining agent in aluminum and magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitant for producing lake pigments. It is used for deinking of waste paper. It is a raw material for producing calcium salts.
2. Chelating agent; firming agent; calcium fortifier; refrigerant for freezing; desiccant; anticaking agent; microbial inhibitor; pickling agent; texturizing agent.
3. It is used as a desiccant, road dust collector, defogging agent, fabric fire retardant, food preservative and in the manufacture of calcium salts.
4. Used as lubricant additive.
